Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native)
Help shape the future of digital healthcare. Take ownership of a mobile platform used by healthcare professionals every day and make a real impact on patient care.
Help shape the future of digital healthcare
Dermicus is a telemedicine platform used by nurses, GPs and dermatologists to capture skin and wound images and get fast specialist input. We're a small team in Gothenburg and Stockholm, now part of Omda, a healthcare software company with more than 250 employees and customers in 27 countries.
We're hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer who combines strong technical skills with an interest in building intuitive user experiences. While engineering ownership is the core of the role, you'll also have the opportunity to influence how the product works and feels for clinicians. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, taking initiative, and driving work forward. You'll own the mobile experience, but you'll also be part of a team where everyone contributes across boundaries when needed.
What you'll do
Own and lead the development of our React Native application for iOS and Android.
Drive technical decisions and help define the long-term mobile strategy.
Lead major product and platform improvements from idea to production.
Work closely with product management, developers, QA, and clinical stakeholders.
Solve complex technical problems and ensure high-quality, maintainable solutions.
Support the team wherever needed, whether that's mobile, frontend, backend integrations, or platform improvements.
Help improve architecture, development practices, and engineering standards.
We are a small team, which means ownership matters. There is no separate group that picks up difficult bugs, cleans up technical debt, or fixes things that fall between teams. We solve problems together.
How we work
AI coding tools are a natural part of how we build software. We expect you to be comfortable using tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar to accelerate development while maintaining strong engineering judgment.
We build software used in healthcare, so documentation, quality, traceability, and validation are part of the job. We care about understanding why something works, not just that it works.
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience building and shipping mobile applications.
Strong React Native experience.
Experience owning and leading mobile development, not just contributing to it.
Proven ability to take initiatives from concept through delivery.
Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic mindset.
Comfortable making technical decisions and taking responsibility for outcomes.
Curious, self-driven, and motivated to continuously learn.
Strong engineering fundamentals, including testing, version control, documentation, and maintainable code.
Professional working proficiency in English.
An appreciation for good UI and UX, with the ability to contribute to product and user experience discussions when needed.
Above all, we're looking for someone who takes ownership, enjoys solving difficult problems, and wants to make a meaningful impact in a small, high-performing team.
Nice to have
Experience with mobile UX and UI design.
Experience with backend development.
Experience with modern web development and frontend frameworks.
Experience with cloud infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, or platform engineering.
Experience with native iOS and Android capabilities, particularly camera and media handling.
Experience working in regulated industries such as healthcare, MedTech, or life sciences.
Swedish language skills.
What we offer
Ownership of a product used daily by healthcare professionals.
A small team with significant influence on product and technology decisions.
The opportunity to shape the future of mobile within Dermicus.
A flexible hybrid setup, with approximately two days per week in our Gothenburg office.
The backing and stability of Omda, while maintaining the speed and autonomy of a focused product team.
